Track Saw Cutting

What is a Track Saw?
Track saws have become one of the most talked-about tools in the last few years. Whether the discussion is among professionals, woodworkers, or DIYers, there's one question that always comes up: What can a track saw do that I can't do with saws I already have? The short answer is that a track saw can do a lot.

Benefits of a Track Saw
Other saws can do some of the same things. But track saws can perform a lot of cutting tasks that other saws struggle with or just can't accomplish. That's why we developed our Adaptive Cutting System - with the Plunge Saw + Guide Track Kit at its heart. It packs a lot of cutting capabilities in a compact package. With our Adaptive Cutting System track saw, you'll be able to cut in more ways more precisely in more kinds of materials, and you'll be able to do it all more efficiently.

What is a Track Saw Used For?
When you're building wood projects, you need a cutting system that can adapt to your needs, whether you're crosscutting boards to length, ripping them to width, cutting mitered angles, or even cutting plywood sheets and large panels down to size. The Adaptive Cutting System makes it all possible, and more, by combining the advantages of guided cutting with unparalleled versatility of a Project Table that supports and positions materials precisely.

How to Use a Track Saw
Our Plunge Saw and Guide Track make the process simple. Just mark where you want to cut. Then lay down the track with the edge right on your marks. You don't have to worry about any offsets. Where you lay the track is exactly where you'll cut. Then simply put the saw on the track and cut. The track guides the saw straight, so you don't have to try to keep it on a cut line.

Advantages of the Adaptive Cutting System

VERSATILITY

Crosscut Solid Wood
Make perfectly square crosscuts in boards of any width, and use the integrated cutting guides to set accurate, repeatable length.

Rip Boards
Cut down boards to any width, as narrow as 1", without needing a table saw, and leave straight, smooth, splinter-free edges.

Break Down Sheets
Cut plywood, MDF, and other large panels easily and accurately, either on the Project Table, or using the Plunge Saw and Guide Track alone.

Make Perfect Angles
Cut angles from 0-60 using the included Miter Guide, and get perfect 45 miters easily using Versa-Stops and the precisely machined holes in the Project Table.

SAFETY

Protect Your Hands
The Plunge Saw minimizes blade exposure by keeping it shrouded until you press the release and plunge the blade into your material.

Position Workpieces Safely
A retractable riving knife follows the blade to prevent the saw kerf from closing up and causing the blade to bind.

Support Large, Heavy Materials
The Project Table supports boards and plywood sheets and holds them in position while you work, adding even more cutting confidence.

Eliminate Kickback
When engaged, anti-kickback protection prevents the saw from moving backward on the track should the blade strike a hard knot or bind.

PRECISION

Set Accurate Measurements
Integrated rules built into the Project Table ensure workpiece positioning for cuts from 1" to 48" long or wide.

Make Repeat Cuts
Cutting guides included with the Project Table position and support workpieces. Optional Rip-Guides and Parallel Guides bring precision when cutting off the table.

Minimize Tearout
The anti-chip strip on the 62" Guide Track and the Plunge Saw's Splinter Guard work together to ensure smooth, splinter-free cuts.

Cut Precisely
Make angles from 0-60° using the included Miter Guide, or cut perfect 45° miters easily using Versa-Stops and the precisely machined holes in the Project Table.

PORTABILITY

Stow It Away Compactly
When folded, the Project Table stands vertically to minimize storage space requirements.

Transport It Easily
Folding handles with molded grips make it easy to hold and control the Project Table while moving.

Work Where You Want To
Large wheels roll easily over rough surfaces, cracked concrete - even grass or dirt.

Set Up Quickly
When you're ready to use the Project Table, simply drop the legs at each end and lock in the support braces.

Can a Track Saw Replace a Table Saw or Miter Saw?
Table saws and miter saws are classic tools for wood projects, but our Adaptive Cutting System takes their capabilities to the next level. We'll show you how the Adaptive Cutting System can make all your cutting tasks easier, and take the place of a conventional table saw or miter saw. See our in-depth comparison of our track saw vs table saws and miter saws.

Is a Track Saw Safer Than a Table Saw?
A track saw is generally considered safer than a table saw because it can make more precise cuts, has a smaller blade, and is less likely to cause kickback. A track saw also has a guide rail that keeps the saw in a straight line, reducing the possibility of off cuts. However, in order to be used safely, both tools require proper handling, maintenance, and safety precautions.

Track Saw vs Circular Saw - Which Should You Choose?
The choice between a track saw and a circular saw is determined by the project's specific requirements. When working with large sheets of material, a track saw is ideal for making precise and accurate cuts. A circular saw is more versatile and can perform a variety of cutting tasks. A track saw is a better option if you need to make a lot of long, straight cuts.
